Stevie Stevens, LMT, Certified BowenWork Practitioner

Bowen Therapy is a light therapeutic bodywork that is a unique form of neuromuscular re-patterning.  It works primarily through the nervous system on both structural and energetic levels.  The technique is gentle and noninvasive, and can be performed through clothing. While each touch is light, it is very specific and meets the client where the work is needed.

Release energy robbing pain, tension, anxiety and stress

Relief from structural, muscle and joint aches

Clear symptoms and begin to address root causes

Stimulate the nervous system to re-balance from fight/flight to relax/restore

Assist in the prevention of or rehabilitation from surgery

Re-hydrate fascia, allowing for structural re-balancing

Turn on 'circuit breakers' in the body that have been turned off

Stimulate the detoxification processes by addressing the lymph system

Many clients are amazed at how they can feel feel shifts in a session and report feeling deeply relaxed. Because the work re-balances the body as a whole, pain is often reduced, tension is released, and clients experience more energy and stamina.

Bowen Therapy Fees

It's beneficial to allow for a long enough session that gives my clients plenty of wait/process time. While the time on the table can be up to an hour, expect to be in my studio long enough to review history and progress and wrap up any details.  This may be 1 hour or more.

BowenWork Sessions are $55

Bowen Therapy is completely safe and appropriate for everyone from the highly trained athlete to newborns, pregnant women, elderly and the chronically ill. Bowen has been successful in treating musculoskeletal problems, such as back and neck pain, scoliosis, sporting injuries, TMJ misalignment, and carpal tunnel syndrome. It is also renowned for its effectiveness with internal conditions, such as migraines, digestive and elimination complaints, colic in babies, and respiratory problems, including asthma.

A Bowen treatment consists of gentle rolling movements. These stimulations activate a systemic response so powerful that a few minutes’ pause is observed to allow them to be integrated. A pattern of movements and pauses continues throughout the treatment. The rhythm is soothing, and most clients fall asleep at least once during the session. Benefits are usually apparent within a few sessions, even when long-standing conditions are being treated. Bowen results are lasting and profound.

What to Expect in a Session?

  • Each Bowen Therapy session is located in Bella Vista looking out at beautiful Windsor Lake.
  • We will discuss your health history that includes the reason for your visit and review the progress from any previous visits.
  • As you relax on a treatment table, you will feel a gentle rolling pressure to specific treatment areas.
  • There may be 'homework' movement recommendations to increase the effectiveness of the session
  • Over the next several days after a treatment, your body will continue the unwind/restore process.

How Many Sessions?

If there is a new trauma to your system, you may experience partial or full recovery within the first few sessions.

If you've been altering your lifestyle because of pain, discomfort, or anxiety for a long period of time, you will probably need several sessions to get back to your new normal, then gradually only need tune ups to remain balanced.

My goal is to build a healing relationship with all my clients, facilitate you to a better quality of living, and help you with long term health success with maintenance sessions.

Change Catalyst

Stevie grew up in Arkansas and received a BS in Plant and Soil Science from Texas A&M-Commerce.  She worked in the landscape industry as a garden designer and owned a design/build business in Dallas, Texas.  After an accident, she moved to New Mexico and started a journey of healing that in time brought her to Northwest Arkansas.

Her clinical training is through Scherer Institute of Natural Healing in Santa Fe, NM (2010) and is supplemented with various Eastern and Western technique trainings, including Bowen therapy, cranial sacral, acupressure, connective tissue, and Reiki.  Her chaplain and interfaith seminary training contribute to holding space and careful listening.

Stevie's creative nature integrates training and intuition to formulate a treatment plan that facilitates repatterning at the physical, mental, and emotional levels.
